The AVS integration for AWS IoT Core moves media retrieval, audio decoding, audio mixing and state management from the physical device to a new virtual device with Alexa embedded in the cloud. This reduces production costs of devices with integrated Alexa by up to 50% with the reduction of hardware requirements from 50 MB to 1 MB of RAM and from ARM Cortex “A” class microprocessors to ARM Cortex “M” class microcontrollers.
